one to one sessions

One to Ones:
Pitch to a leading agent or publisher face-to-face -
guaranteed appointment per delegate

Last year, our delegates loved the chance to pitch to an agent in person - so this year, we've made it an even bigger part of our conference. Every delegate will be guaranteed a one-to-one appointment with an industry professional: either a publisher, agent or (on Sunday only) a BBC drama producer. These are fantastic opportunities to get instant feedback on your ideas and work.

Saturday industry professionals:

David Headley - DHH Literary Agency; Vicky Salter - Barbara Levy Agency; Louise Burns - Andrew Mann Associates; Camilla Wray – Darley Anderson; Rebecca Carter – Janklow & Nesbit; Peta Nightingale – Bookouture; Matthew Smith - Urbane Publishing; Xander Cansell - Unbound  Publishing

Sunday industry professionals:

David Headley – DHH; Gaia Banks - Sheil Land Agency; Jemima Forrester – David Higham Associates; Jo Unwin – Jo Unwin Literary Agency; Matthew Smith - Urbane Publishing; Candida Lacey - Myriad Editions; Ros Ward - Scripts (BBC Writersroom)

To apply for your one-to-one pitch session:

We will send out detailed instructions in February 2017 to all ticketholders, but we will allocate based on your pitch: one paragraph (project title plus a maximum 60 words) describing your book, idea or script. In the competitive publishing world, it’s essential to have a quick and appealing way to sum up your idea and don’t forget, readers also make their decisions on what to buy very quickly.

We'll send you your appointment 10-14 days before the conference, along with advice on how to get the most from the opportunity. If you book for two days, you'll be allocated one appointment per day.

Please note, we will allocate the most suitable person for your pitch but we cannot guarantee that you will meet a specific agent. We also reserve the right to change the appointment if necessary due to illness or circumstances beyond our control.
